Professional Exchange Program
Our Professional Exchange Program is a professional development opportunity that facilitates collaborative learning experiences between participants and local teachers. You'll grow both personally and professionally through intercultural engagement, while playing a real role in enhancing education in your chosen destination. Our programs follow a proven, structured model with flexibility built in to meet the unique needs of our local partners and schools. The application process starts with a short questionnaire to match you with a suitable placement, followed by an online meeting to walk through the details. Once your placement is confirmed, you'll get a welcome pack tailored to your destination and two team meetings before departure — so you can focus on teaching, learning and exploring.

What makes Global Teacher different from a volunteer program?
What sets Global Teacher apart from traditional volunteer programs is our focus on professional development for teachers and the sustainability of educational impact. Here's how we differ:
Global Teacher is dedicated to providing professional development opportunities for teachers. We understand that being a teacher means being a lifelong learner. Our programs are designed to support the growth and learning of both our team members and local teachers in the destination country.
Our team members are passionate and experienced educators. You begin your journey alongside and learn from fellow professionals, fostering a collaborative and enriching environment from day one.
Instead of solely teaching a small group of students, we work closely with local teachers. This approach ensures the benefits of our program are sustainable and extend beyond the immediate classroom — reaching not only current students but future generations taught by local educators.
We empower local teachers to share their newfound pedagogical insights with their colleagues, amplifying the program's positive effects throughout the education community.
We collaborate with local foundations, education departments and universities to provide ongoing support and resources for local teachers, ensuring their learning experiences continue and thrive.
In summary, Global Teacher offers a professional development-focused approach that strengthens the skills and knowledge of both our team members and local educators — creating sustainable, long-lasting improvements in education by empowering teachers to lead in their own classrooms and communities.
