Nusa Lembongan is a captivating island situated southeast of Bali, Indonesia. It is the most renowned among the three islands that constitute the Nusa Penida district, which also includes Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan.
In collaboration with the Bali Children Foundation, Global Teacher has established a teacher training program on this picturesque island, aiming to enhance access to quality education. The journey to Nusa Lembongan is straightforward, with a short 30-minute transfer from Bali International Airport to the charming town of Sanur. From there, a swift 40-minute speedboat ride will transport you to the shores of Nusa Lembongan, just minutes away from our accommodation.
This small island boasts beautiful beaches, a variety of restaurants, and well-equipped tourist facilities. Following the school placement and workshop, the team will have the opportunity to explore the nearby Nusa Penida and enjoy an additional day of adventures back on the mainland of Bali.

Here's a detailed itinerary for our program on Nusa Lembongan:
Day 1 - Arrival:
- Private transfer from the airport or hotel to Sanur.
- Speed boat to Nusa Lembongan.
- Unpack and settle into your villa.
- Evening orientation meeting and dinner.
Days 2-6 - Local School Placement:
- Transport to and from your local school.
- Collaboration with team members and local teachers in a 5-day teacher training program.
- Training and daily details provided.
- Breakfast and dinner cooked and served by on-site staff at the villa.
- Afternoons and evenings involve relaxation, team debriefings, and workshop preparations.
- Social events throughout the week, including afternoon island tours.
Day 7 - Professional Development Workshop:
- Transport to and from the workshop venue.
- Presentation of workshops focusing on various teaching strategies to local teachers.
- Training on leadership skills for workshop presentations.
- Day begins with an opening ceremony, including the national anthem, and concludes with a certificate presentation.
- Morning tea and lunch provided by Global Teacher for team members and local teachers.
Days 8-9 - 2 Days of Excursions:
- First day explores Nusa Penida and its beautiful island sites before returning to Bali in the evening. Check-in at the Bali Mercure in Legian.
- Second day takes you across Bali, visiting popular tourist destinations like rice fields, temples, and the monkey forest.
- Tour concludes at the Mercure Bali Legian, conveniently located near the airport and main tourist areas.
Day 10 - Departure:
- Enjoy your final day with relaxation, dining, and shopping within walking distance.
- Organize your private transfer, either to the airport or to your next hotel if you choose to extend your stay.

Things to consider
- •Nusa Lembongan is a small island a 45 min boat ride from the mainland. There are no cars on the island, only transport vans and bikes. This may occasionally limit the ability to venture out during the evening/ night
- Classes and schools may have changes to their schedule with short notice. The team leader is constantly working to ensure that we are able to keep to the itinerary as much as possible.
